Burnout and Stress

You are a human in an environment that is vying for your attention, money, and heart.  The struggle is real.

As an Autistic Woman who didn’t know I was autistic until my 30s, I’m familiar with surviving in burnout mode.

Burnout is a form of exhaustion caused by constantly feeling swamped. It’s a result of excessive and prolonged emotional, physical, and mental stress. In many cases, burnout is related to one’s job.

Burnout happens when you’re overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to keep up with life’s incessant demands.

It’s difficult to see burnout in the midst of it.

The last decade of my life has taught me that I have to flip the script to survive as my true self.

I must stop always being the caretaker of others and begin to take care of myself.

I am worth it.

I had to admit I was burning out and allowing stress to consume my personal life.

I had to admit I am a human who has emotions deserve to be felt, experienced, and maybe even shared.

I have experienced marriage, a cross-country move, divorce, being kicked out of a spiritual community for standing up for LGBTQIA+ rights, and physically debilitating stress from my job.

Thanks to therapy, I have found peace outside the expectations of fifty hour work-weeks and am able to thrive rather than merely survive.

Perfectionism is a self destructive and addictive belief system that fuels this primary thought: If I look perfect, and do everything perfectly, I can avoid or minimize the painful feelings of shame, judgment, and blame.

We ALL deserve to thrive, not merely survive.

During the COVID19 pandemic, I realized I needed help figuring out what to do to go from burnout back to baseline to balance.

It’s a daily exercise in discipline, self-acceptance, self-awareness, and combatting my stubbornness to shift from burnout to balance, but it’s worth it to just keep swimming.

I’m here to help you help you ride the waves and learn what the next right thing for you is.

If you are experiencing burnout - personally or professionally - and want help managing your stress or working toward making major changes, I’m here.
